A DESIGN COLLABORATION BY BARRIE BENSON FOR HIGHLAND HOUSE
One of the introductions I was most excited about seeing launch in High Point was that of stylish Interior designer Barrie Benson, who recently debuted a 12 piece furniture collection with Highland House at High Point Market. Infusing the upholstery pieces and table designs with her vintage-inspired take, the collection includes sought after "revived" vintage styles, in fresh and new finishes. Benson's interiors mix fabulous American 20th century pieces, mid century and 1970's finds with colorful fabrics and great art, and her showroom space was no exception. Ahead, some of my favorite new pieces from the versatile collection.

The Clairee Sofa has a track arm, mid-century lines, and the slightest curve
Perfect for seating areas where making conversation is easy, the Mary Jane Swivel Chair, with an upholstered base
A wood base, tufted upholstered seat and a curved arm in the McGraw Chair make it the most feminine piece in the collection. Colorful contemporary art from Hidell Brooks Gallery and pretty seasonal blooms completed the space. I love that she supported a Charlotte resource and included them in her presentation.

The Blanche Daybed with bolsters and a cut out back is trimmed in a contrast welt. In the living room designed at market, it was placed around the fireplace and can also be used to divide seating areas in a larger space.

Wrapped in grasscloth, the Flannery Console Table comes in a crisp white, or smoky grey and has brass capped feet

With the same vintage lines, the Willie Cocktail Table is generous in size
Light or dark, this table can hold plenty of books and objects
Benson partnered with the creative gals over at Addison Weeks and they created the special brass and chunky stone hardware on the mixed material Johnny Credenza. Made from a dark cerused oak, the contrasting doors can be finished in leather, grasscloth or lacquer.
