WARM THIS WINTER: CLASSIC PAJAMAS TO LOUNGE IN STYLE THIS SEASON

by Marisa Marcantonio

There are few things as cozy as putting on a pair of freshly pressed classic men's pajamas before slipping into bed on a cold winter night. My search for new classics with a women's silhouette led me to the 7 great pairs below.  From floral to gingham, there is a version that will make every gal on your gift list happy. Sleep tight.

Want to wear the same fresh patterned Roberta Roller Rabbit prints you love from your summer caftans in a PJ version? The now classic Amanda floral comes in cozy button down classic PJs.

I can always count on J. Crew to come out with something made out of a floral Liberty printed fabric. I invariably want it. A PJ set in a small pink flower petal print with long pants and cuffs trimmed in navy has a femme look.

The preppy appeal of your lived-in checked gingham button down has been translated into crisp pajamas with white piping by a favorite of mine for soft cotton PJ's, Marigot.

Andy Spade is up to his usual cheeky tricks. This time, he is designing classic standby's like cotton PJ's, boxers, robes and socks with a pared-down  traditional feel under the name Sleepy Jones. All about cozy Sunday mornings, their luxe silk version, the Paley, has a modern stripe down the side that leads to side pockets.

Pale aqua trims the feminine silhouette of Three J's Jamie PJ's, based on traditional men's pj's in crisp white cotton.

Known for her classic button down shirts and fresh tailored perspective on women's fashion,  Atlanta-based fashion designer and shop owner Ann Mashburn, does PJ's, with the same attention to detail and quality. Made of the same super soft cotton used to make luxurious bedding, I love her slightly oversized version of the classic set.

15 MEMORIAL DAY MUST-HAVES

by Marisa Marcantonio

It seems as though the weather on the East Coast will not be cooperating this weekend, so kicking off summer may mean less beach, more movie-going. You can still be prepared for the sun's arrival with beachy basics that have you covered all season long. From picnics in the park to sunsets in the sand, here are some summery designs you will want close at hand.

Serena and Lily just launched the most amazing Shop at the Beach in Wainscott, LI where I spotted this heavenly perch. Spend lazy days swinging away in their woven Double Hanging Rattan Chair. Throw some of their festive printed pillows into the mix, a cool lemonade and a good book, and you are all set.

Photo courtesy of Crate and Barrel

A summer classic, the Adirondack Chair gets a modern spin with Crate and Barrel's Vista Chair. Strong lines give their teak version an entirely new look.

Carry meals to and fro the garden or set up bar on this Melamine Cane Tray from C. Wonder in a classic navy and white color combo.

Inventive and festive patterns can transform melamine plates into another realm. Fun plastic plates should never be boring, as with West Elm's cheery Mexican-inspired Bright Shapes design, available in pink, yellow and orange salad and dinner sized versions.

Iced tea and lemonade quench thirst better when consumed from a chic glass, in this case, C. Wonder's Cane Tumbler Plastic Glass.

Could this flatware be any chicer? Dipped-handle enamel and stainless steel flatware from World Market is picnic ready and a major steal. The great color adds punch to a summer table.

The new coral and shell Lyford print in aqua from Pomegranate is one of my favorites. The two color hand-blocked pattern is casual and breezy.

Have a bottle opener handy at all times, you never know when the party will start. Terrain Just Hooked Fish bottle opener will ensure the ginger beer is flowing.

NAUTICAL NIRVANA: HIT THE DECK!

by Marisa Marcantonio

A few gorgeous sunny days in a row make me crave summer, including the crispness of tailored sailing-inspired seaside interiors. In the spirit of red white and blue, nautical nonchalance and sunny days on the water, I am feeling the preppy, peppy punch all around for spring!

Known for his sepia toned Marine portraits, British photographer Ben Wood works out of his photography studio on the Isle of Wight. This locale means he gets to shoot world class J Boat regattas like Cowes Race Week. Get your time on the water by adding his work to your collection with Trowbridge's beautiful triptych prints.
