THE TOP HEAD-TURNING ROUND MIRRORS WORTH A LOOK

After covering several trade shows and seeing what's in the air, I've noticed that round mirrors are everywhere. Adding a circular statement piece to the wall, convex or flat, these shiny beauties can be the focal point in the room, or the supporting cast. Here, a round up of the latest head turners.

This convex beauty caught my eye recently at the Atlanta Mart. From Somerset Bay's Transitions Collection, it makes an impact with its large scale and has a gold accented border that I love.

The hit of High Point, this charming little Magnolia Mirror from Palacek is made from shell fragments strung together and resembles flower petals

French interior designer Jean Louis Denoit upped the glamour quotient at Baker furniture this fall. His sexy, moody pieces blend art deco and midcentury modern influences. Here, his ethereal Tourmaline Mirror is made from acrylic dotted with metallic spheres.

With antique mirror speckled like an egg, this gold leaf-edged mirror, the Kira, from Arteriors, can serve as the pattern in the room

Gutsy and masculine, Noir's powder coated black mirror with large orbs around the edge is not for wallflowers

Ok so they aren't round, but they are great looking. Whisper thin octagonal Eaves mirrors from Bungalow 5 are edged in a thin brass border and appear to float from the wall surface.

Hable Construction came up with many cool designs (they're so cool, expect nothing less) for their Maitland Smith and La Barge accessories collections. This diminutive silvered mirror made from cast resin has a snake wrapped around the edge and just the right amount of detail.
