STYLEBEAT HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: COZY THINGS

Doing gift guides for so many years has taught me there is a category that is often overlooked, that of "cozy things." This type of gift spans the senses, from soft to the touch materials like Alpaca and shearling, to things that are yummy to eat. I thought about what makes winter great, and all the little luxuries that make the cold bearable, even enjoyable. Here are some new classics that will make those on your list warm and toasty inside and out.

When I was growing up, I had a mother who made lollipops from scratch and merengue mushrooms dusted with cocoa powder for my teachers at Christmas. This marshmallow heart is something she probably would have made too. But save time and buy these cuties for your hot chocolate from Sur La Table

It's refreshing to find a throw in a jaunty shade like this citron Alpaca version from one of my favorite new(ish) companies St. Frank, started by a savvy world traveler friend of mine. Light and warm, it is made from baby Alpaca and woven by artisans in Peru.

When I first came across this personalized robe. Called "The Boxer," from new bedding company Hill House Home I laughed out loud. Customized with classic Varsity letters, the cotton poplin robe is trimmed in navy making it a high end version of the shiny robes worn by prize fighters. I think this is such a thoughtful gift.

Yippee! Everlane just launched their latest category, pajamas. I love nothing more than classic pj's in crisp cotton, and these fit the bill with direct to consumer prices. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell out, the good stuff tends to go fast.

Every year, a new candle brand emerges, but Diptyque remains high on my list of favorite candles because of their beautiful, pure scents and clean and elegant packaging. Kicking things up a notch, because holiday, their scented candle set is a little more festively packaged than usual.
