TAKE A LOOK AT AELFIE RUGS: BOLD AZTEC PATTERN PLAY DHURRIES

Woven in India, designed in Greenpoint Brooklyn, Aelfie rugs, designed by Aelfie Oudghiri, pack a visual punch. Interesting patterns, often including triangles and stripes, and terrific color combining are influenced by tribal rugs  from India, Morocco and Turkey as well as early Soviet-era embroidery.  A visit to the Columbia grads studio reveals a wide inventory of eclectic vintage rugs, just launched woven pillows, textiles and her new dhurrie designs of cotton and wool. She also creates custom rugs for those that want something specific.  This designers sensibility has really captured my attention, her bold daring expressive designs are so innovative, I wouldn't change a thing.
