When designer Amanda Nisbet launched her new collection of metal-based furniture and accessories for Niermann Weeks, known for their handmade metalwork, I saw them in their early production stages. Launched in May 2014, the line encompasses an eclectic mix of vintage-inspired pieces that can span traditional and modern spaces. Known for her vibrant, color-filled interiors with a big dose of glam, Nisbet's spaces can be seen in her best-selling book from 2012, Dazzling Design.  Nisbet kept a few things in mind when designing the collection,  sharing "I've always been attracted to designing with juxtapositions, I think the tension in coupling different styles, vernaculars, and finishes creates vibrant, interesting design." Below, the the results of her collaborative efforts with Niermann Weeks, the designs take advantage of the materials and finishes metal allows, and her unique viewpoint brings fresh combinations to the assortment.

Mixed materials provide a dynamic presence for the Strato Dining Table. A circular zinc metal banding on the surface is a foil for the fluted center pedestal and riveted sides.

Gilt brass bamboo-detailed frame supports a raised orange leather-wrapped top on the Diva Coffee Table

Framed in gold-leaf with a raised screw bolt-detail, the Solis Side Cabinet is paneled in tangerine glass and has lucite orb pulls that add to the vintage appeal

A throne worthy of a fireside spot. Perhaps in a pair. The Cielo Chair, with leather seat, aged white metal finish and gold accents is better than the vintage original since the scale is right and seat is comfortable.

Circular with an edge of overlapping arch shapes of cut-out matte painted zinc metal, the Strato Mirror has a tromp l'oeil effect

Playfully accenting the inner and outer edges of the mirror frame, the Ligna Mirror, designed Mahogany or plaster-painted finish with gold orbs has the glam touch

As one of the signature pieces of the collection, the Palm Standing Lamp features mixed metals for a glowing moment with sculptural flair

Stacked brass orbs on a lucite base on the Orbis Table Lamp add visual interest and a warm glow to a side table or when used in pairs on a sofa table.
