PRIDE OF PLACE: FAIRBAULT BLANKETS WILL KEEP NY AND BROOKLYN DWELLERS HAPPY

Photos courtesy of Fairbault

As throws go, having something interesting thrown across the arm of a sofa can be conversation worthy, in the same way interesting artwork can .  Maps were all the rage over the past few years, but here is a new way to get your geography lesson. Brooklyn motifs can be a bit tedious, but I came across this wool throw from Fairbault depicting an early Brooklyn street map, and immediately fell for its charms. Featuring a vintage Brooklyn road map and surrounding boroughs, its a blanket that any Brooklyn dweller past or present would appreciate. The thick merino and cotton blend blanket will last forever and has a rich American history on its side. Fairbault throws have been made in Minnesota the same way they were 150 years ago, in one of the last vertical woolen mills left in the US, just the thing for chilly winter evenings.

For the die hard Manhattanites, only the city will do.
